This routine will convert all dates in your file to a different format.
YOU SHOULD MAKE BACKUP COPIES OF ALL YOUR DATA FILES BEFORE CONVERTING DATES.
This routine makes changes to everyone in the file, and it may not give the
result you expect, or problems may cause the routine to stop before it is
complete, therefore, please FIRST MAKE BACKUP COPIES of the .DT5 files.
Do you want to convert dates right now? Y or N
Here are the date formats that are possible:
Used ONLY when European date format is INPUT e.g. 150190

Writing to options file
This routine will check your data and tell you where errors occur.
Since each person has pointers to parents, spouse, and children, these
pointers must all be correct or errors will occur when modifying or printing.
If a hardware problem occurs or if you remove the data disk before choosing
S to stop the program, these pointers or links may not be properly updated.
If this routine indicates that your data has problems, contact John Steed
and see if there is a routine to fix the problem. Usually, the file can be
restored without loosing more than one or two names.
Any errors found will be displayed on the screen
Some errors are correctable here - you will be asked if you want the
correction made. DO NOT MAKE CORRECTIONS UNLESS YOU HAVE A CURRENT BACKUP!

A Tiny Tafel file is a summary of all your ancestors. The file contains the
soundex code and each unique last name of your ancestors in each of your
family lines. It also contains the birth date and place of the first known
ancestor in each line, and the birth date and place of the most recent
descendant with that last name.
Your data file will be read and the Tiny Tafel file will be created for you.
You may then print the file, and you may use a special editor, such as TTGEN12
to edit the file to your liking. The file may then be uploaded to a computer
bulletin board which has the Tafel Matching System. Then others who have also
created a Tiny Tafel file will be notified if they are searching for ancestors
which match yours, and you can request a search of other people's Tafel files.
If you want a list of the phone numbers of bulletin boards, you may write to
John Steed and request the list. Here are two BBS numbers, and these boards
contain files about Tiny Tafels and lists of other BBS numbers. Before you
upload your Tiny Tafel to a BBS, you should run it through TTGEN12. When
using the TTGEN12 program, you should add locations where they are missing.
The Skeleton Closet BBS, VA Beach (804) 671-8547
ROOTS BBS, San Francisco, CA (415) 584-0697
